That.

Was.

FAB!!

I always hated them. They didn't suit the channel. But it's so nice to see them go out in style , a fitting end to the last four and a half years.

Farewell, dancers!

Bravo!

Well done to BBC ONE; especially for finishing on Ballet in grand and fitting style.

So it is, Farewell to the dancers...from London at least!

Did anyone else notice the slight camera wobble at the end of ballet?

Yeah I saw that; I mean obviously they'd done loads of takes so it must have been the best that they got. Pity one of the dancers is always out of sync of the others though!!

Don't forget, a few more dances to come in NI...

Is Mark on duty tonight?

If he was then I can't imagine what we'd have Razz

There's no arguing. That was the best closedown EVER.

Credit to them for putting the montage together, it was a very nice touch; just a shame the idents weren't up to much!

Although to be fair, the music was one element of the package that did work; but certainly not enough to save it.

Fantastic stuff. Well done BBC England for actually marking the change for once - it only ever used to be NI that said anything.

Wonderful to see Ballet return for "one last dance". I disliked many of them (I actually loathed the African Tribe), but they've been powerful little idents for the past 4 years - i'll actually miss Festival and Skateboarders I think...

What exactly are they going to show before Breakfast, and all subsequent programmes if the new look doesn't launch until 10am?

Oh well, it was good to see them all (including a discontinued one) for the last time in broadcast quality!

A fitting end - good work beeb.

You know when I saw Ballet again it reminded me of the sombre news introductions - i.e Queen Mothers death, ironically in 2002 the day they aired.

I thought she died the day after the dancers debuted.

No idea James, but Belfast are running a little late tonight, so closedown will now be at 2:55am.
