Just did a quick check round the regions, the regions who used this new ident other than NE & Cumbria were BBC One East and BBC One South West. Everyone else used the swimmers.

Do they turn around and try to fit into that Jeep??

Just seen the Mountain Rescue ident on iPlayer.

It suffers from the same fundamental problems that the other two idents have - it's just as drab and lifeless as the swimmers.

At least the life jackets do follow the BBC ONE colour scheme, and it solves the problem of the ident set being poor for serious programming.

I think that ident has made this set even worse..... What the hell, there just people standing looking miserable, think why are we here???

Thinking about it, isn't the theme of the idents meant to be "living photographs"? If so, then they actually do kind of work.

They work as per the theme, but the theme doesn't work as idents in this form.

Unless of course one of the Nations has a headline that involves a tragedy in the Brecon Beacons, Cairngorms, or the Mournes, etc. In which case it's back to people in swimming costumes or shorts.

But they don't. If they were still images coming alive (or vice versa) then people might be able to see the concept but they're just basically the camera rolling.

None of them work as stills either.

Well there was never an accident involving surfers, kite flyers, there were probably deaths caused by motorcycle accidents, there were no hippos killed, no woman got ripped to shreds by lawn mowers, children didn't catch the plague by playing ring-a-roses, no cyclist incident occurred and a helicopter crash in Scotland didn't stop helicopter being shown in England! I love how some people like to over dramatise things!

I thought there were only supposed to be 2 idents each month, but perhaps I got that wrong. Are they releasing more because the original 2 were received so badly?

If so, then I don't think the strategy is working. The concept of "Oneness" is sound in principle for a season (such as the LOVE... trailers), but he execution is poor and these are not really idents for the national broadcaster, in any way.

The more I see, the more think it's just a matter of when this idea is pulled, not if . Crying or Very sad

Dear Mr Parr, your photographic style doesn't work as idents, in video form.

I honestly don't think there is a strategy.
