BBC Oneness - idents and presentation

I don't remember this but this promo for the launch of BBC1 HD from a few years ago probably had more money spent on it than the current idents. The tagline is quite apt too.

Can anyone tell me if it possible to create mocks of that "ONE block" which was postage a few pages back for the one show, and superimpose them into locations around the UK? It would be nice to try and create a few mock ideas.

It's going to be tough to top the helicopter ident for emotional and serious programmes, I would say. This just sets the mood perfectly.

I didn't have HD at the time of those two and I love the second, dynamic, colourful, and ends with a symbol. Surely a numeral 1 could be fitted into the diamond shape and reuse these maybe not so much the one where the HD part is being created. Would the '2' fit into the diamond for consistency?

There's something familiar about that BBC One HD trailer and I agree that it is very well produced. A shame that they didn't think about doing something like that with edits used as idents, yes it may be a bit ITV 2003 but with good production it could look great, heck what am I saying about production - look at what they're using now.

It'd look amazing reused- if they were able to repackage it as the circle rather than the diamond and it'd have the usual 'spiral' going around it, it'd be a winner.

What a shame these superb idents were butchered in 2009. Even so, they still remained memorable.

The helicopter ident and the Skateboarders ident were perfect to set the tone in times of reflection.
