I thought the 1991 globe was CGI too. I guess now it makes sense why they didn't call it COW2.

The 1991 glove had an acronym too but I can't remember what it was. Sarah Green and Philip Schofield mentioned it when they unveiled it but I can't find the clip

IIRC he referenced NODD and COW but merely said "this one comes off a laserdisc".

The Going Live intro is here but there was no name for it: https://www.tvark.org/?page=media&mediaid=127836

However I think the clock introduced at the same time was called GNAT?

Oh, false memory syndrome. It must have had a name as most systems like that did then - Noddy, Cow and as you say GNAT - Generator of Network Analogue Time

did any of these endboards make it to air?

No, they’re clearly not good enough for the nation’s number one TV Channel! 🤨

Sarcasm aside, most of those are beautiful, the one with rainbow would be perfect for the current climate where the emblem is adorning people’s windows as a symbol of hope and togetherness.

That's beautiful, and you're absolutely right about it being especially relevant in the current climate. I love it.

No, although the final two examples there were on a previous version of that agency's website under the header of "New Year 2014".

Seems at one point that paint theme was being developed as the short-run January campaign, but was scrapped in favour of recycling the "Love" idents, etc. from 2013.

Would be interesting to know how close it came to making it to air, or if it was only ever a concept? The summary that previously accompanied those paint themed images read as if it had aired, implying it was a late/unexpected call to drop it, but that's just my speculation.

One of them says Oneness on it, so they're not from 2014.

My above post refers to these two images only, which *I can assure you* were on a previous version of that website under a "New Year 2014" header.

The rest of the images on the current live page are clearly from a varied date range, including concepts for Oneness.

Agreed, these are beautiful. Some of them could almost be considered an evolution of the circles theme in line with BBC Two’s curve, with the various different textures and materials creating a circular motif in the centre of the screen. I’d love to see how they were planned to animate.

Such (beautiful) potential.

It's a shame that this didn't make it to air. It's gorgeous.
I think it would go very nicely with idents from the Circles era.
