BBC Oneness - idents and presentation

Forest ident just now.

Quite apt - an outdoor scene with nobody in it.

Thank goodness it wasn’t ‘Sea Swimmers’.

I'm just glad the fact it uses the old, old logo means we won't see a reairing of the old BBC VHS ident from when I was younger - that music used to haunt me and that bleak music would be the last thing we need at the moment.

These idents are meaningless now that more than 2 people outside is banned and should be more than 2 metres away and everyone has to stay at home - even if they were created before the Coronavirus.

The idents are trolling people, maybe they really should bring back the balloons temporarily!

I mean it’s advocating activities and non-social distancing practices that are banned in this country for the next few months. So really as a responsible broadcaster they shouldn’t use these idents during the lockdown period.


Either bring back the old circle idents or easily re-edit the balloons with the updated BBC One logo.

How could you not love that?? It's beautiful.

If the BBC still have the original film of the balloon to hand, I suspect even Lambie-Nairn don't have them.

Otherwise they'll have the BBC One legend burned onto them from 1997/1999 (where they added the URL)

A bit haunting mind for the start of a Postman Pat or Teletubbies video.

Just use the old logo, I doubt many would notice. It’s basically near enough the same.
