NBC now commissioning something from the BBC Studios Natural History Unit, so presumably this will also air on BBC One.

Bit of time to wait though, it's expected to air after the 2024 Olympics.

We have done actually prior to (I think) 1987?

I'm reading between the lines here but the article says "NBC has retained “significant” distribution rights globally"

Which to me seems that BBC Studios may have got UK broadcast rights. Otherwise it would instead mention NBC has complete global distribution rights, wouldn't it?

Has a NHU production aired on anything other than a BBC channel since Studios split off?

I realise this is probably the wrong thread for this but does BBC One still broadcast the lotto / Euromillions / Thunderball numbers on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays after the News at Ten bulletins? I noticed there were no Euromillions / Thunderball numbers shown at the end of last night's News at Ten, just ahead of Graham Norton.

I don't see why that would be the default assumption. To me, if they'd retained UK rights it would have definitely been included in the press release. As far as I can see it's an NBC commission and I've seen nothing to suggest BBC TV has anything to do with it.

If it ended up on NBC rather than one of its off-shoots it would be quite a landmark series for the US where such series are pretty much non-existent on the networks and left to the likes of Discovery and National Geographic.

It's for the main NBC channel.

I see BBC Studios are also making a Father Brown spin off for Britbox North America but there is no UK home as of yet.

Very weak sound throughout the weather after the BBC News just then.

There was no apology from the announcer.
