They used the Dark Materials ident for Strictly and then a standard one for the actual show itself. Rolling Eyes

It's odd considering that only people who are watching the show would even recognise the fact that it is a 'His Dark Materials' variation; and the fact that they were putting it before already popular shows such as MM's Big Show and Strictly suggests that they were intending to promote it to a larger audience - despite HDM having been going for a couple of weeks already. Also, not even showing it before the programme itself just seems bizarre.

I saw it last night and didn’t even realise what it was for.

When do you reckon we'll see the teaser for the Christmas 2019 promo?

Not really, if the point is to promote it, then there's little point putting it on in front of the actual thing when the audience is there watching it

TV companies don't usually run traditional prkmos before the thing they're promoting

No but you would think they would use it into the programme itself. Take the Doctor Who variations of Capes and Hippos for example. Not only were they used before other programmes surrounding Series 8/9, but they were used into Doctor Who itself also.

On a side note - I see the BBC have renewed their partnership with Elstree Studios to continue until March 2024 - with BBC Studioworks continuing to operate Elstree Stage 8 and 9, George Lucas Stage 2 for productions.

It was inevitable that this was going to happen, as they need the space, and the partnership has worked very well for both companies.

Good to see Elstree continuing to produce shows.

They may have won "Channel of the Year" but it certainly wasn't for their on screen look/presentation.

Probably tomorrow or Friday at the earliest. Maybe even later today if we’re really lucky.
