It's nothing to get too excited about but it's much stronger than Oneness simply by having a strong dominant colour in the ident - almost expected the ITV1 logo to appear. Very Happy

If this new Children in Need ident is Onenessless, how come there are stings of it with Oneness tagline attached, just after The Apprentice?

But I agree, a much better ident overall, more dynamic, fluid and interesting than what we've suffered the past 3 years.

It shows how good the existing Oneness idents could have been if they'd been done in a similar style, with some intentional movement rather than accidental shakiness caused by filming on a stepladder.

Most of the Oneness idents are beyond help really - not even better camerawork could be enough to liven up an ident that consists of a bunch of people standing about in an allotment, for example.

Strangely, one of the better Oneness idents, Cheerleaders, which is one of the few that does actually feature a bit of music and activity, seemed to get shelved in February - making only its second appearance since then when it randomly turned up on Saturday morning.

Sad to think that these idents, that still feel like a temporary stopgap, have now been around for almost three years, when the balloons only lasted four-and-a-half years. It was bad enough that the dancers lasted longer by two weeks, but it will be a travesty if Oneness is still here in mid-2021!

There's a really shoddy error in that ident though...

They've obviously tried to emphasise the colour yellow for CiN including adding extra yellow to the trees, but then the effect cuts out at the 12 second mark in the video, and half of the leaves go back to being green.

I was not aware of this. Which other Oneness idents have now been axed - apart from the obvious ones, Sea Swimmers and Exercise Class? The Wheelchair Rugby team ident where they crash into each other, I have not seen in a while either.

Sea swimmers has made an appearance recently, albeit I think it was for a BBC One East regional programme.

It's still also used in the Midlands. It's quite odd to see it being used.

The Taekwondo ident was also apparently shelved in February, making only three appearances since then, the most recent in July. TV Home has just three recorded appearances of the Ten Pin Bowlers ident, the latest being on Sunday night.

And like in other regions, the Sea Swimmers still turn up in front of regional programmes in the London region.

Yorkshire use the wheelchair rugby team into the news most days. I don’t know if it’s used regularly on network, although don’t they match the regional ident to the network ident in case you see a glimpse of the other?

Wheelchair Rugby is also used a lot in NE&C.

It's either that or Sausage Dogs.
