If that's the case, then it's clear that the Mountain Rescue Volunteers ident has been edited somewhat for transmission and the background added in digitally, with added forest and a mountain rescue vehicle.

I'd say it's more likely that they just got that "behind the scenes" shot and then said, oh hang on, everyone move over there, it's more interesting. I mean, there are trees right there...

Then again, watching the ident, that camera movement does look like it might be fake, so who knows.

Or there are two versions. The one you see in that picture - which doesnt exactly scream 'forest rescue team'..

.. And the second one, filmed 180 degrees behind the stepladder and in part of the actual forest.

Like BBC One Forest ident?

Precisely.

Being a bit less ambitious I do wish at least they'd switch to using the stacked logo regularly so at least there is some consistency again with BBC2 and BBC4. Now the Circle idents are gone they don't really need the horizontal version.

Consistency on the BBC today? You must be joking! Laughing

Double mess on BBC One Midlands just before Sunday Politics - for a start it was the sea swimmers ident, but with both the local and national announcement over the top.

Jeez. I didn't even think that the sea swimmers ident still existed in BBC Archives. Someone should've got in there and destroyed it by now! Laughing

Sadly, the BBC West region continued using the sea swimmers and zumba idents for at least a while after their apparent Network withdrawal (not sure if they still do anymore?) in some local junctions, as they were/are the only ones filmed in our patch (Clevedon and Avonmouth, respectively).

Maybe the only good thing about them ever still getting an airing is that it makes most/all of the other W@nkness idents seem positively wonderful by comparison!

Can't they just "accidentally" start airing the circles again permanently?

To be fair though, I cannot wait for the day that someone (hopefully Superunion) gives BBC One a fresh and stylish new look. Something they desperately need...

Then you'd be holding your breath for another year. Obviously, BBC One would rebrand around 2020, but if you're expecting it in October or some point in the summer, you'd be sorely mistaken.
