I suspect that was probably this track which sampled the ident (or one of the many remixes of it) rather than the ident itself

Ambulance is such a good and well produced documentary series. Well except when they leave some timecode in the corner

It was only there for one shot, very odd

I noticed this also, I thought it might've been burnt onto the source material but I'm sure they cut back to the same material a few shots later and it was gone...

The timecode was consistent with how far through the programme it appeared - about 15 mins in, so it's almost certainly the timecode of the edit

If it was the source they'd presumably have noticed and zoomed in to cut it off

False alarm, I accidentally turned my sound system off. Rolling Eyes

Still improved the programme markedly.

Just come across this on YouTube - CBBC continuity with the BBC One Dancers theme tune of the time. All we get is quiet now.

The ident name is Festival and here is the video.

It's funny how Oneness makes the Rhythm and Movement idents look close to perfection.

I still find some of the R&M idents abhorrent, but even Festival (which IIRC was one of the most disliked because it was just people jumping up and down) still makes for a cracking intro to the right programme. In my early teens, hearing that music before TOTP was a real Friday feeling moment.

Very well put, I have memories of seeing it before Neighbours a lot too. Similarly to ITV’s 2013 idents, whilst the visuals aren’t always appealing the strength of the R&M package was the interpretations of the musical score, however many of the original: ballet, capoeira, tango, tap dogs to name a few had a great use of location to make the scenes visually appealing.

For me it's Acrobat which I have fond memories of. There's just something about the composition and the music that works well. And I love the Ballet ident too with the gorgeous setting of the Minack theater.

The whole package wasn't of the same standard but there are some moments of joy in the R&M package from the music, visuals and atmosphere that save it from complete cringe factor. Whereas Oneness is just bare footage with no saving graces. (enter klaxon)

I thought R&M got worse when they added to it. Never got the love for Skateboarders for example. The original ones were fantastic - Capoeira was stunning. I think they were 10 years ahead of their time.
