They haven’t updated all in one go since the ’97 rebrand… the early ’00s rebrand was staggered from 2001-3 (’01 BBC Two, ’02 BBC One and Four, ’03 BBC Three) , and the late ‘00s rebrand was staggered from 2005-08 (’05 BBC Four, ’06 BBC One, ’07 BBC Two, ’08 BBC Three)

Well even 1997 only saw a tweaking of BBC2 idents to incorporate the new logo. Agree though that an all in one revamp is what the BBC needed really - BBC2 was revitalised overnight with it's revamp and if that could have been achieved across all televisiual outlets at least it would have revitalised the BBC as a whole.
C4 haven't really updated everything at once, though ITV of course did back in 2013 (and again in 2006, though I think then ITV4 went to air with the new logo earlier when it launched)

You're right - itv was probably a better example of an all channel revamp.
Seems like the corporate identity police have been around the regions social media recently, with all of the regional news programmes having adopted a generic look online - ditching the programme titles in favour of the region’s name on a red background and a video showing regional landmarks as the cover photo (at least on Facebook). It’s put an end to some of the more ‘funky’ (to put it kindly) looks some regions adopted in the last couple of years. Only exception seems to be Spotlight who keep their programme name on social media but have tried to copy the look, using helvetica though

Not just the regional news programmes. The local radio stations have adopted a similar branding strategy (but using a purple background for the logo). I notice that the BBC Look North (Yorkshire) page on Facebook is no longer available. It's now BBC Yorkshire.

It's the same page, but the name has changed.
Odd that the roll-out of this format has been so slow. Picking three regions at random, BBC Midlands changed their Facebook profile picture to the new format on 28th March this year, Yorkshire changed theirs on 31st July, and East Yorkshire and Lincs updated theirs last week.
The BBC don't like unified, co-ordinated branding changes these days, do they?
Not sure how much agreement I’ll get on this but I’m going to say it anyway...
I reckon Oneness would work if BBC One had better surrounding presentation.
Everything about BBC One is dated - the logo, the font, the garish red. I think the idents would be ok if everything was smartened up. The more recent ones are a lot better than those dark days of the first 2 that were on for a whole month when it first launched. I love the steel drums one.
