They’re clearly just trying to avoid multiple BBC logos - common in branding guidelines. I suppose it’s more important that a viewer of the ad remembers the network, than specifically how to watch, particularly in these days of search engines and catch-up services.

I think it's less to do with avoiding multiple logos, more that the BBC blocks would be scaled so small that in SD, and even in HD, they'd be seriously compromised.

That’s true - although given that it’s a printed poster that may not be quite the terms they were thinking. Smile

So the line up from next sunday:

06:00 Breakfast
08:35 Match of the Day
10:00 The Andrew Marr Show
11:00 Sunday Politics Scotland/wales/ni/local area.
11:30 Sunday Morning Live
12:30 Bargain Hunt
13:00 BBC Weekend News

Personnel I think there should swap Bargain hunt and Sunday Politics around and rename Sunday morning live to Sunday lunchtime live. or Big question,

I imagine they will have to rename it for the next series if it stays in that slot. Not worth renaming it midway through the run, Big Questions or whatever else appears in the god slot is probably back in a few weeks

Maybe there should move the news to noon, have god slot for 12.15 - 13.15? and the put in Songs of praise for the other 45mins, that could create a stable slot for the programmes, while from 2pm have a family block with films and sitcom repeats?

It starts in the morning, and runs until 12:30pm, so can't see why they should have to change the name, just because half an hour of the programme is in the afternoon. Also, 11:30am is a bit early to have "lunchtime" in the title.

This Morning runs from 10:30am - 12:30pm, but I can't recall anyone ever saying they should rename it over the 30 years it's been on air, because half an hour of the programme is in the afternoon.

Isn't that slot too short for Bargain Hunt? It's a 45 minute programme.

Bargain hunt has 30 and 60 minute edits as well as 45 minute episodes

I can see the ratings for the 'god slot' going down there, which won't go down well at the BBC. 10am after Marr is a slot you might see by accident, but 11:30am after regional variations will only have people specifically tuning in for it.

Really? Does anyone at the BBC really care about viewing figures for religious programming, providing they’re fulfilling their charter requirements?

Plus of course a lot more of the potential audience will be at church then

Well they should as it is their job to make sure that the programme that they are showing is in the best place in the schedule for the audience that will watch it.

Songs of Praise was on at 3pm today which is in no mans land when it should be on at 5pm in a prominent slot.
