There was a technical hitch during Flog It and Impossible earlier. Both shows briefly froze the video and Impossible ended up rewound by about 10 seconds.

Not just my tv then! (Didn't watch Impossible.)

There was a rare occurrence of sting straight into ident before The One Show tonight on Network.

The BBC iPlayer Facebook page nicely butchering new BBC One drama the Bodyguard here, by uploading the entire opening sequence (nearly 20 minutes in itself!) and then cropping it into portrait to fit nicely on phones! It means that in a lot of shots there are pans to show what's happening outside the portrait crop zone - looks ridiculous and very strange!

Oh for pity's sake, people can just rotate their phones, so why do that? Use landscape orientation!

So Strictly’s starting up again on Saturday. Do you think we’ll be getting a new Strictly based ident to go into the show like last year?

Nah, they'll just stick swing dancers in church hall on, or whatever it's called. Or the bhangra one.

Promo poster for Bodyguard with BBC at the top of the show name and One/iPlayer at the bottom.

With sport and now promos using ‘one’ are they trying to push the numbers only as the brands?

Hmm...

To be fair, at that time every colour BBC2 ident had lacked BBC branding.

They’re clearly just trying to avoid multiple BBC logos - common in branding guidelines. I suppose it’s more important that a viewer of the ad remembers the network, than specifically how to watch, particularly in these days of search engines and catch-up services.

Do they have any branding guidelines though.
