Some regions took the presenter to introduce Fiona Bruce into the News at Six, most notably Midlands, South East, Scotland & N.I.

Typically, Peter Levy was more apologetic to those who had unfortunately missed him.

And Wales finished with 'Over to Fiona Bruce in.......'.

East Mids just said the national news follows, followed by the endcap then straight into the first headline. I had assumed they were running late.

I see Pointless isn’t being shown next week... I know it’s been off for tennis etc, but I don’t remember it ever being properly “ replaced “ in the 5.15 slot on BBC One during a “ normal “ daytime week... unless someone tells me this happened a long time ago.

I think Pointless is close to its ask-by date at this stage, IMHO.

Xander and Richard are as good as ever, and the playalong factor is still very much there - but they *are* starting to scrape the barrel a bit with the questions now (and why are the audio questions still restricted to the celeb version?). And it hardly needs to be said that the repeats don't help, especially at this point in time with the set having recently been updated.

!mpossible, on the other hand, is still a relatively new show, and was pretty much an instant success when it began (there was certainly at least one call for it to be given a go in the 5:15 slot before the end of the first series). And, of course, its own celeb version is starting soon.

Did Celeb Masterchef run in the slot one year, though think Pointless still aired at 4.30.

I can’t believe there is a live edition of The One Show Tonight. I wouldn’t have bothered.

Not everyone likes football, nothing wrong with providing an alternative.... as long as they just ignore the football of course, everyone who is interested will be watching
DE88, Custard56 and james-2001 gave kudos

I must say it is a surprise they doing a live One Show when they could have showed something pre recorded and got the same figures and provided the same alternative.

I'm sure they'll still be screaming "it's coming home" every 15 seconds, like everywhere else is...

They've got to show something and 'The One Show' is probably as perfect an alternative as your can probably get.

Yes an alternative, but a full live show rather than just some old repeat?

Why should people who aren't interested in sport have to put up with second best?
