"The news at six follows in half an hour, after the news where you are."

Any regions do their own ident?

East Midlands did. Very similar quote, but at the end it was "but now the news from our region".

Also, not our usual announcer that's been on since at least the 90's. Sounded like Simon Ward but I might be mistaken.

Look East didn't introduce the programme but went straight into it after the credits.

Yorkshire did their own ident, referencing that tonight is the annual one that is live from the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate. They are probably quite pleased that they’ve got half an hour tonight rather than the previously planned 15 mins.

South West took the network ident. Noticed the opt was a bit messy on both London and SW (and probably others) with a brief glimpse of the News Channel before the regions opted in.

Some regions took the presenter to introduce Fiona Bruce into the News at Six, most notably Midlands, South East, Scotland & N.I.

Typically, Peter Levy was more apologetic to those who had unfortunately missed him.

And Wales finished with 'Over to Fiona Bruce in.......'.

Southampton took the network ident and anno. Oxford opted out for a regional ident with an elegantly simple ‘This is BBC One in the South’.

So the regional news was at 5.30 then to give time for a full 6pm national bulletin?

Would that be the first part of their normal intro into the news by any chance?

Almost certainly. Worked well though. One wonders why other regions didn’t do likewise.

Yes, as stated on the previous page.

Sounds like how some regions have been cutting off the “at Ten O’clock’ from the end of the announcements when the Ten has been at 10:10 during the World Cup
