I couldn't think of anywhere else to post this. I thought BBC channels generally warned about the possibility of strong/offensive language during the introduction from the CA.

I was surprised to see this strap flash up 3 minutes into tonight's HIGNFY. The green line under the caption seems an odd choice, as the usual colour associated with the programme is red.

Is this a new practice I've missed being introduced?

EDIT: I've just realised that I randomly record this programme from BBC One NI. Perhaps that is the reason for the green colour from their logo. Thumbs up

I was watching it on BBC One HD and they didn’t show that - there was a strong language warning on the subtitles, but not from the continuity announcer.

(I do think it’s a little odd that the very family friendly The Button is followed immediately by the rather less family friendly HIGNFY)

That's certainly the reason then. They also have their own Action Line information slide with the same colour scheme and the BBC Northern Ireland logo, so this IPP design is definitely an NI exclusive.

Now I'm seeing a yellow line. It's the dress all over again. Wink

I guess an announcement should have gone out with the CA but was overlooked, hence the caption. Hopefully it doesn't become common practice - hating it now how increasingly viewers are basically warned they may have feelings in the commercial breaks, especially in the soaps (so it's not even a language/violence issue).

I've only caught a few minutes of The Button but the scheduling seems really off. It's on far too late on a Friday and it gets an inexplicable late AAs repeat on Saturday nights. As you say, it seems far too family oriented.

It’s definitely Saturday teatime viewing, but maybe they don’t want to launch it in such a high profile slot straight away. ‘Don’t Scare the Hare’ anybody?

It hasn't stopped them before. Ready or Not had a similar vibe and that was in the same sort of slot The Button should've been in.

I caught a little bit of it and felt like it deserved to be in a Coach Trip kind of slot.

On bank holiday Monday why can’t bbc and itv show something different rather than the same shows every day like bargin Hunt and this morning

Considering the amount of competition these days, it's better to have the regular shows than put anything special on.

However BBC2 are showing family films replacing VD, BBC Newsroom Live and Daily Politics.

Not even just bank holidays now - The Chase, Tipping Point and Pointless now pretty much air 7 days a week.

I also randomly record HIGNFY on BBC One NI, and I’ve no idea why. I’m sure I never set it to record on NI. Has something on Sky’s series link gone a bit bizarre at some point?

Similarly, Room 101 records on BBC One Wales for me.
