Not only are we left with these god awful idents... but can anyone actually tell me what 'oneness' means?

I'm guessing they're intending to mean 'togetherness' though when you have a number to play with like 'one', that's kind of a non-starter.

It really should be 'one-mess'. There's so many things wrong with them.
This is just as bad as Lorraine Heggessey replacing the iconic globe in 2002... if not worse.

Besides...I feel that in general the ident is a dying concept. In this era of Sky Guide, online TV and so on we don't need to be told what programme is on next because chances are, we already know. I wouldn't be surprised if when the BBC moves on from one-ness we got idents similar to TF1's idents which are little more than bumpers with a menu every once in a while. But that's my view on the idents, and I fear that I'm alone on this one!

At least TF1's are functional, the same for France 2. This is how they introduce programmes (no CA)

France 2's bumpers which feature people are a lot better than the two BBC One idents shown so far.

The France 2 bumpers remind me of Ch4 bumpers in the mid 90s of people knocking on the screen,

Great, my tweet is part of their headline. Thanks for not asking, Daily Mail.

I'm pretty sure they don't have to

Is it really as bad as you lot are making out? Some overreaction on here today for sure

I think that the France 2 one above, with the red background, " France 2 presente" and short sting is simple, understated and classy. The polar opposite to the trash BBC 1 has served up today!

Yes. And I've seen no overreaction - just a general consensus on their poor quality.

The person running their snapchat is probably the same person who signed off these new idents.

Won't be long before they end up at the Job Centre Plus.

France 2's festive bumpers continued the same theme by using their personalities wishing viewers happy holidays. Consistent but festive at the same time.

BBC One has always been lacking something impressive when it comes to on screen graphics idents etc. Don't see how this is such a shock to people. Anyway let's all come together in oneness and chillax.

I think its because the whole package is crap, even in the 90s yes we had one ident but the package was overflowing. just look at all the promo bumpers: http://tvlive.org.uk/tv-presentation/bbc/bbc-one/1991-1997/

No, it definitely hasn't. The Balloons were graceful, majestic and beautiful and certainly impressed me back in 1997.

This slop they have decided to unveil today is the worst TV presentation I have seen in my 30 years on the planet. And that's no overstatement.
