No announcement over ident into Green Party election broadcast... Was Mr Lydiate locked in the loo?

Apparently, they're having problems with the new continuity booths that were 'cheaply' installed - it has a digital desk, so if things go wrong they can't override. Some have had to pre-record their annos apparently just to make it to air, on a bad day. Plus there's over compression. (in case any soundie TVFers have noticed)

Thought some on here might find this interesting. I found the piece about the National Lottery graphics fascinating, especially the fact the BBC were using an Acorn Archimedes as late as 2005.

Brace yourselves folks. Looks like the "creatives" have been allowed to play with BBC One pres elements again. Please tell me this is not a new trail endboard design? Or has the work experience boy at BBC NI been let loose?

"ITV have got big text on their endboards. We need to be doing that too."

What a mess!

If they're going down that route, at least centre the text, seeing as they're ignoring the rest of the 2006 template anyway.

Good grief.

Seriously, how difficult would it be to write a programme name, day and time in a consistent way (using Reith), just with a different background, for each of their channels? It would presumably cost zero cash, yet would tidy things up no end until something new comes along.

From experience, it should be the most simplest thing to do but certain people don't bother to check the style guide. The amount of times I've had to fix dodgy promo endboards...

However, from the many variations of promo endboards seen across all the BBC's channels, we know that currently there is no common text layout (using Reith or not). So this is not a case of ignoring a style guide.

Oh dear, just when you thought BBC presentation couldn’t get any worse.

Looks like they literally have just seen ITV and decided to copy, but in a half hearted manner.
