Extra time in the FA Cup, then penalties if required followed by the draw, so that's the schedule screwed tonight. Obvious thing to do is just pull Hold the Sunset at 8pm and run to time as much as possible without that.

I think they have read your message..

Everything being pushed back according to the Sky EPG.

Yes, as always the BBC taking the more disruptive option, airing a 45-minute edition of Countryfile at 7.35pm then pushing everything back 20 minutes.

Whatever happened to just sticking Tom and Jerry on?

Not sure what cutting Countryfile to 45 minutes is supposed to achieve if it's still going to be running 20 minutes late?

Countryfile is one of the BBC's highest rating shows. They won't drop it.

Countryfile is one of the BBC's highest rating shows. They won't drop it.

If they ran Countryfile at the usual hour duration and then dropped Hold the Sunset the channel would only run 5 minutes late for the remainder of the evening.

Should've run it to the full hour, and cancelled the next programme.

EDIT: beaten to it.

Assuming Hold the Sunset is a run of 6, they could have easily pushed it back a week and slotted the last one in on Easter Sunday.

It is, my TV guide has (4/6) in the synopsis.

BBC website says it's episode 5.

Alternatively just run the whole schedule 30-35 mins late. No need to drop or change anything.
