Looks like the episode of the Antiques Roadshow I saw being filmed back in May (not intentionally, we just happened to be on holiday there and using that heritage railway that day!) is on next week. The description is right that it was very wet that day- and everything was huddled under the canopy, though you could see the tables they'd set up in case it was dry.

I just hope there really is a proper overhaul of the BBC branding in Jan.

Isn't BBC1's branding a confusing mess right now. I, along with some, lament the passing of Circles era, but we all knew it couldn't go on forever. It went on for far longer than anyone could ever have forseen. But, either Circles era has passed or it hasn't passed. How can BBC1 bring back just one, for use with Strictly, clearly from the previous era? A total confusing mess.

I assume this isn't how they planned things. Had the Oneness idents been better received, I imagine they would still have been churning them out, along with a special one for Strictly. As it stands, I doubt we will see many, if any, new ones this year.

Dumbness is a National embarrasment, and really does not deserve to be seen to belong alongside the great BBC1 ident eras down the years.

i would read that seeing the circle themed idents still be used on screen as a tacit admission that oneness hasn't really worked as a brand (which is no surprise to many because it's utterly meaningless)

if it had, even if it ended up being an ident not shot by martin parr, bbc creative would have found a way to integrate the oneness theme with special idents - they'd have had much better luck with "togetherness" though, wouldn't they?

i'd say the trickling of a new font and all the onscreen identities being eked well beyond their sell-by date, and where nearly all other channels onscreen identities have evolved significantly, we will see a wholesale re brand, perhaps not far from the 1997 scale at some point.

it's funny, just the problem that lambie nairn were brought in to fix 20 odd years ago has happened all over again. there seems to be no corporate brand governance - it's truly a complete and utter mess.
