I'm certainly hoping they drop 'Oneness' by Christmas. Otherwise, all we've got to look forward to is a bunch of people stood around wearing Santa outfits (or something along those lines). All the BBC have shown this year is a huge lack of creativity.
I'm hoping so too. But I can imagine the cast of all 'your BBC favourites' staring at the camera and then walking off camera.

They’d best be concerned about Christmas as least.
The BBC tends to add a little more tinsel to their presentation of course, but I don’t think that a Oneness ident filled with dancing Santas and the like would suffice.
I don't think this is the end of Oneness because it still uses the logo animation they've been using on the new idents. I was expecting the old circle animation to appear!

Let's hope that they revert back to the Circles era design for the BBC1 Christmas 2017 set of idents as well. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they do.

The Christmas idents were well-received because they were well-produced.
Did we ever get to the bottom of when the decision was made to change the idents for 2017? The way it's all panned out - with just two launching at the start and how p*ss poor they all are - it comes across as if someone quickly decided after seeing the Christmas campaign.
I really wouldn't be surprised to see the circles return in the new year. I find it odd that we had a circle just a few days ago and now a Strictly circle ident. If they return in 2018, BBC Creative can save face, having said it was a year-long project.
The idents we saw back in January 2015 were a lovely concept, shame we never got to see more of them. Then again, after Oneness, every previous ident package looks wonderful in comparison.
