Well despite my earlier post this was a surprise. I'm amazed the BBC branding police have allowed it.
The whole thing is a confused mess with one off idents that look like the previous circles set and idents in the current set - the least worst of them - that would not look out of place in the Rhythm and Movement era.
Add to that BBC Two admitting defeat and using idents that are older than some of its talent, it just seems that the BBC has lost its way.
I'm just hoping that Martin L-N is secretly working on the next set for both channels right now.

Strictly Confusing Branding!
True, but aren't you glad a Circles ident has been made here. I am, for one.

I can't see them being scrapped so quietly, sadly.
It looks like Oneness idents have been scrapped. This Strictly identify looked so much more professional and classy than the Oneness idents. Will the hippos return after Strictly ends?? Or even better - new circle idents??

Precisely.
I like what they’ve done with that Strictly ident, but it only serves to exacerbate the issues with BBC branding. A mish-mash of one-off idents that resemble more of the circles and idents that are instantly forgettable.
Same here, but the Oneness theme isn’t actively being promoted apart from the idents and stings - giving it some extra exposure through special idents and trails would boost BBC Creative’s commitment to the direction they’ve taken.
Says it all, I must say.
I’d be eager to see what they have up their sleeve for the next three months, particularly at the end of the year.
Messy is the right adjective I would use for this branding era

As nice as it is seeing a circles ident it really just makes it feel like they aren't committed to oneness and makes the BBC look like it's having an identity crisis.

So it will be interesting to see if this is the end of the road for Oneness after tonight's Strictly finishes...
Hope so, but extremely unlikely

I wouldn't imagine they'd bring back the old circles, but it would be fantastic to see a selection of brand new circles for BBC One. As you quite rightly point out, they do look a lot more professional and also more creative.

I'm certainly hoping they drop 'Oneness' by Christmas. Otherwise, all we've got to look forward to is a bunch of people stood around wearing Santa outfits (or something along those lines). All the BBC have shown this year is a huge lack of creativity.
