It's odd that the logo is so insignificant and shoved down the bottom of the screen, particularly given that the 2009 re-edits of the Circles theme was partly to increase the prominence of the logo (Hippos/Capes having the logo form up immediately rather than at the culmination of the circle).
The Christmas Day idents, whilst being devoid of the BBC logo, seemed more of the way to go, zum Beispiel:

I think they're realising that the tagline is literally completely unmemorable and terrible that they're trying to light it up to make it more apparent to people.
I think the tagline is just terrible arty farty nonsense which has no meaning whatsoever. I really do hope they have some major aces up their sleeve for January now that we're edging ever nearer.

Brief breakdown during the weather on Countryfile just now. Graphics froze but Louise Lear did an admirable job of continuing the forecast out of vision. Towards the end the feed cut out entirely and a slightly surprised Delroy Haines apologised over a caption slide, before Countryfile resumed.
