Random Q - which didn't seem to fit any of the specific threads in the newsroom. After the opt-out when Scotland in the headline sequence when it goes back to network there's sometimes a noticable judder in the music a few seconds in. Is there an obvious reason why that happens? It seems similar to when STV fling up their ECP at the end of shows with clear-cut theme music like The X Factor.

http://www.bbccreative.co.uk/projects/bbc-one-christmas-continuity/ BBC Creative has a website now. There's a page about Oneness (both Christmas and 2017) definitely seems from the blurb that it's a year-long campaign, there's also some BTS photos.
The stills gallery wouldn't be complete without a shot of one of the swimmer's a*ses, I suppose. Hope nobody's eating.

Good spot!
Although it says a 'year-long collaboration', which I take to mean they're
working
with Martin Parr for a year. Whether they continue to broadcast the idents after that is another matter. I do hope your interpretation is correct though and that I'm wrong!
Seeing the Christmas idents again just reminds me how much better executed the Oneness concept could have been. I quite like the idea of programme-specific idents for flagship programmes. Not sure if anyone else has had these as a regular thing since Carlton/Central's 1996 idents with the likes of their Coronation Street and The Bill idents.
Expanding on the bumpers used over the past couple of years would have created Carlton/central 1997/98 style idents. Part of me still feels the animated style idents brought in in January 2015 would have been a better way to refresh rather than the current idents.
As it's a year long campaign, I wonder if Martin will have Christmas versions of his work or because the oneness style
Launched with the better Christmas idents will we see a totally different set for Christmas 2017?

Is it going to be the same old idents next year and for the next few years but without the oneness ? Who knows

I agree. It wouldn't have been the most creative branding but there was a missed opportunity there. BBC2 are following a similar pattern now by not utilising their great 'Arts Night' idents.

The website itself pretty much sums up the standard of the work that's on screen.
