Just when you think the idents couldn't get worse. An absolute embarrassment.

I can't share your opinion. It was just a playful departure from the norm, and I'm glad NW and NI done it.

I very much agree with Darren.

Brekkie, did you have the same sentiment in 2014 ( https://theident.gallery/player.php?id=BBC1-2014-ID-CAPES-DOCTORWHO-1 ) and 2013 ( https://theident.gallery/player.php?id=BBC1-2013-ID-DOCTORWHO-1 + others)?
denton, MMcG198 and FBC gave kudos

An embarrassment? How so?

The "idents" themselves are certainly an embarrassment and are beyond talking about at this stage. However, Duncan's link (and NI's take on it) - in my opinion - was nicely executed. There's always a danger that announcers go overboard and try too hard to be funny/creative. And for the most part - I'm thinking of some of the clowns on the Channel 4 and UKTV channels - it falls flat and is just utterly cringeworthy.

Duncan got this spot on IMO. And the brief glimpse of the 'BBC2 COLOUR' testcard was a nice nod to the anniversary of colour.

Very difficult to please everyone. But, I appreciated it.

They were done so much better. This was just poorly done IMO.

Ouch. I'm going to have to disagree there. Channel 4 has personality. But I didn't think the Doctor Who link was that bad, it's just a little bit of fun.

WELL that was interesting, for viewers on the network and NI. I like how NI was able to use the NI test card.

I take it, this was also a nood to Test card F?

It's just a shame they used the BBC TWO testcard on BBC ONE .

Deliberate nod to the anniversary of BBC 2 going colour.

For the benefit of those who have doubts as to whether the early ones have been shelved, Sea Swimmers (ver.2) was used on Network at 11am, leading into The Sunday Politics.

Why is England still using it? The nations all had nicer idents.

The swimmer remind me of this, hopeful this is the fall of the BBC one ident and next year we get the rise.

'Sea Swimmers' has also put in the odd appearance on BBC One NI over the last few weeks. I've also spotted 'Exercise Class' on one occasion on BBC One NI recently.

I can't believe I'm even bothering to comment on screenings of this tripe.

Has this NI test card ever been broadcast before? Is it used internally?

I think you'll find it was created specially for this occasion.
