There's a difference between not launching a campaign with a full set and launching a campaign so full of its own self importance in purporting to capture "oneness" and "all the things that we share" with a wonky zumba class in a village hall and people walking into the freezing sea.

does anyone with a listings mag (or alternatively noggin) know if The One Show was originally planned to be on at all this week? I think the 7pm slot had been handed over to the leader interviews, but following the suspension of campaigning, it seems there was a 45 minute edition last night (with a tribute to Roger Moore) and a 25 minute edition tonight.

There were supposed to be interviews every day this week at 7.00.

Monday: Theresa May
Tuesday: Paul Nuttall
Wednesday: Tim Farron
Thursday: Nicola Sturgeon
Friday: Jeremy Corbyn

The One Show has been an emergency replacement.

Has Amol Rajan ever presented the One Show before? Seems a slightly strange choice, with him being BBC News' Media Editor, but to his credit he did do a decent job.

It would seem Fridays is going ahead, the one show will be back next Monday, but the rest of the interviews will go ahead for Tues - Thursday? .

Yes - he did a Friday a couple of weeks ago. He's a restaurant critic who has frequently appeared on Masterchef, and a former editor of the Independent as well.

Is there a new continuity announcer on BBC One today? Can't say I recognise his voice.
