Pretty much. The casual viewer got over the shock in about five minutes and no longer cares.
Points of View
can't really be expected to dedicate any of its precious fifteen minutes to something that happened four months ago.

That part of the problem Points of view should be on air for 40 weeks of the year not 20. It should also be more transparent, with Ann was doing it, it felt more like there took note of viewers note about show and didnt waste 5mins of speaking with people or given them tours of the BBC etc.

There should be a point of view on the idents at some point cos I'm in it
They missed a trick, with these idents, Dr Who for instance, they have groups of people coming together from various backgrounds, why not do maybe the ood from dr who cyber men.

The Christmas idents weren't directed by Martin Parr, but by few of the BBC Creatives - so it's not surprising the difference between them.
Well why bother with idents, logos, branding and imagery in the first place then. Just slap a logo on a black screen and get the continuity announcer to link over that.

Back in the day that what many stations did, with the Invison CA. but the likes of Ch4 and Central and even LWT pushed the boat out.
They
are
covering the idents, but they also have to cover "current" stories and viewer comments, so it didn't make the first episode, they'll come up during this run.

Well anyone be checking the sky box over the weekend? Will there upload previews of the MAY idents? will we see them on Monday?
Instead of the usual 'Next/Later' graphic at 1.15pm, we got a lower-third apology graphic (Network). Looks like the director promptly hit the 'Next Event' button as soon as the graphic appeared on screen - the announcer's voiceover continued over the first seconds of the 'Masterchef' trail.
A rather poorly worded apology on that graphic: "We apologise for the problems on this programme".
