Don't tell me, the new BBC Two idents in the offing is an inflatable '2' going on travels around the UK with different people standing next to it. 😂😂 Oops, better not give them ideas.
Nearly forgot, with the strapline 2Getherness and it won't be the Lambie Nairn '2' either for further upset-factor. 😉😂
Bathers on Clevedon beach is the news ident given to the regions.
But directors can still use Kite if they want.
Surely if they've filmed 24 they've got out and about a bit. An ident filmed in Cldvedon (and stating so) is of no relevance when introducing Wales Today.
I look forward to seeing what BBC NI come up with to replace these in Northern Ireland. Think they've too much self respect to use these for long.
If Martin Parr has been quoted verbatim in that Sunday Times article, the phrasing is interesting:
“
All they made clear to me
was that they wanted groups of people with shared interests, and that some should be timed for events of the coming year,” Parr told The Sunday Times.
It's almost as if someone at the BBC thought "BBC One refresh" and went with the first "idea" that floated into their empty mind before phoning Martin Parr.
Parr himself sounds on the defensive, as if the brief itself wasn't clear. Perhaps he realised it's not his best work.

Are you sure? Sounds like he's saying that he has just been to film them today (presumably doing a new year swim) and coincidently they're in the new idents
Not sure to be honest - looks like impulsivity got the better of me.
I normally wait till I've seen them on air in context to comment, and I have a good tolerance for such things, but even I think these are dreadful.
After the great Christmas day intros I was hoping for something of that sort of quality but they're just dull, un original and badly produced. The idea of Oneness is sound but they could have done it so much better.
I mentioned at the beginning of the thread about Martin Parr. His photography is great but the mistake they've made is that he's a stills photographer. A carefully framed and chosen still of elderly sea swimmers works as a photo in an exhibition or book but not moving, let alone on telly
Sh*te like this seems to be the norm from a BBC that is terrified of the government and Daily Mail. Any previous rebrand at a high cost gets slated, even though it works out value for money.
I've not witnessed them on screen yet, but good lord why bother?
When you see similar idents on ITV and RTÉ at least they have some effects and a soundtrack.
The first death of 2017: in mourning for hippos, cyclists, surfer, kite people, weird women lawn mowing, footballers, flag-bearing people at a stadium, leaping dogs etc.
The worst part is you can't even say "At least they're not as bad as... (e.g. rhythm and movement)." It's a dreadful new low.
