I expect Cavers and its associated sting(s) will be used ad nauseum with Poldark Sr.3. May have to digitally remove the helmet torches for candle equivalents, though!

That third picture is a comparison on how the idents resemble a stills photograph. Fundamentally, it really weakens an already poor set.

*whoosh*

Not sure what you mean by it.

I can see why - probably took Asa's joke a bit too seriously to be fair.

Must have been my accident rather than design, bearing in mind Martin Parr's fairly evident lack of videomaking abilities.

Nothing wrong with Canon or the camera, it's the dude behind it that's the problem. Wink

These were shot with a Canon 7D & 5D II:

What are you talking about? Canon and Nikon are the two main 35mm camera companies for press and other professional work, and have been for decades. Nikon used to be regarded as the better of the two, certainly in the world of press photography, but any heirarchy in superiority was closed with the introduction of the EOS-1 in 1989, the two makes ever since being regarded as roughly equal. As well as still owning an EOS-1N, I have an EOS 5D MkII and it is superb when used with an L-series lens such as my EF 24-70mm F/4.0 L, and easily good enough for filming a 1080p ident for broadcast.

As dbl says, it's nothing to do with the equipment used, it's the operator and his skills, or lack of, when it comes to filming an ident.

Whoever signed this Oneness set off needs to be on leave or take a career change when the next set is due.

the other thing, if he used £200,000 worth of RED cameras and lenses, do you think these idents would suddenly look magical?

you point a £1000 camera at a badly lit scene in a village hall and a £100,000 camera at the same thing.... i'm afraid the end result will still be bad.
