I would like to know if any of the original batch will be taken out of action or will we end up in November with 22 ident ?

Not even sure. Exercise Class however, hasn't been seen in recent days. Recorded whole junctions off Network on the YouView box last week - did not see a single hint of Exercise Class, with Sea Swimmers appearing very sporadically. Most of the junctions are being dominated by the likes of Mountain Rescue, Wheelchair Rugby Team, Skaters and Birdwatchers.

I really don't think these idents are worth that much effort.

I have to agree, of course.

BBC One's idents at the minute are even worse than the bloody 'Rhythm and Movement' ones from 2002-2006, so you know their absolutely awful. Their just background scenes with a BBC One logo slapped on the bottom of them. It's almost as if they don't care anymore.

The main thing about them is that they have been conceived by a stills photographer, who has used the mindset and photographic 'rules' of what makes a good still photograph. Whilst they all make perfectly respectable still photographs, as video clips, they don't really work.

Look at the bottom photo, a pretty standard Wedding group photograph. The top two images are the same conception. They are, essentially, all group still photographs, and nothing else.

When did that third one air? Laughing

They're all so rubbish that I can barely bring myself to comment on them anymore, which is a real shame. Truly Poundland Rhythm & Movement idents. I'm just counting down the rest of the year and hoping that whoever signed this off is nowhere near the next rebrand.

The oneness theme still seems odd - aside from the word appearing on the idents for a couple of seconds there's literally nothing else going on with it. No long term campaign running through the junctions, no trails, nothing.

That third picture is a comparison on how the idents resemble a stills photograph. Fundamentally, it really weakens an already poor set.

Not sure what you mean by it.

Likewise, there was a time when I used to make sure I had video recordings of all the main BBC idents. With this lot, I haven't recorded a single one, they're just too uninteresting and dire to bother chasing after them all.

I have great empathy with this point of view. Thing is, I've been collecting BBC1 and BBC2 idents for over twenty years now and it's only because I don't want a gap in my archive that I've bothered with Onemess, sorry Oneness Wink

It made sense at Christmas as a BBC take on a John Lewis-esque promotional campaign. I quite liked that original festive trailer with the shots of people coming together for Christmas.

Just a shame about the Christmas idents themselves. As for the horrors that awaited us on 1 January 2017 and since, the less said the better.
