Not straightforward establishing its date of launch. TV ark doesn't include it. 1999? Does anyone know launch year for sure?

Welsh 13 was part of the original package, which launched on October 4th 1997.

Thanks, Michael. Can been seen at 15:23 in this compilation of the entire 1997 launch set:

BBC ONE HD's local news slide has been updated - It adds Mountain Rescue, Wheelchair Rugby Team and Birdwatchers alongside Sea Swimmers. Exercise Class has been removed from the slide.

Airing as of time of writing.

I have some bad news for you. The former compilation was shown this afternoon, after the main news on BBC1 HD, i.e. Exercise Class and Sea Swimmers.

Did the BBC Wales announcer pining for the balloon when launching the new look ever make it on here?

Not trying to diminish the seriousness of what's going on, but it's nice to see such a nice transition compared to what happened when Nelson Mandela died.

The Parliament thread may be more appropriate.

This is what was shown via BBC1 HD. A woman has just lost her life. Your comment is not important.

I've been watching some of the coverage from the US networks, which can be even worse, literally crashing back to normal programming in progress, such as The Price is Right.

This thread discusses BBC One presentation so is a pretty appropriate place if you ask me.

Yeah. We can discuss WHY they interrupted the schedule over in the Newsroom, but this thread is fine for showing HOW they did it.

How easy or hard is it for BBC One to move all their scheduled programmes over to BBC Two at short notice, as has happened today?
