I've seen a fair amount of good content from Comic Relief already this year, it has to be said.

They do seem to be putting the emphasis back on comedy this year after several years of worthy, but dull, celebrity endurance challenges. Just the W1A ads and the Pink Windmill reunion alone are better than anything that's come out of Comic Relief in recent years IMO. I literally can't remember anything from 2015's show.

This years Comic Relief has the reunion of French And Saunders, that's enough for me to watch it.

Is it true that if you chant his name three times into a mirror he will appear ala Beetlejuice? Very Happy Say his name backwards he disappears ala whatever that's from as I picked it up off Family Guy? Wink

They should've brought out the smokey globe like Northern Ireland did two years ago and looks great in near HD. The only thing is this would look far superior to the current on air look... and I don't think they'd like that somehow.

Even so, it was used into the nineties, so not inappropriate. I, for one, am very grateful they showed it.

There are further episodes. Maybe next week, Virtual Globe will be used.

Looks like a recreation - and a pretty good one - rather than a recording of the real thing. The shading of the '1' isn't quite right. And the colouring of the globe is a little off - for example, the lighter blue colouring towards the edges of the globe, was not a feature of the original.

Well, I temporarily adjusted the brightness when editing it for upload and the black extends to the periphery of the screen, with no tell-tale signs of it being a 4:3 copy with black bars either side. Maybe they've tarted it up as well as turning it onto a 16:9 copy.

I recall being completely blown away by this when it launched in 1991 and I still think it looks fantastic.

Mike, you may want to check back on the light blue edges... https://tvr.metropol247.co.uk/thetvroom.com/bbc-uk/bbc-1-20-01.html
