For a brand and visual identity built around unity, "Oneness" appears to be strikingly inconsistent.

We're all different but can all come together as one. erm. oneness. Yes.

Remember that any branding done in the regions is usually literally that. The bods who work on your regional TV news programme aren't concerned about whether they have the correct font/logo/wipe/colour on a caption when they're normally just concerned with getting a news package correct and on air on time.

They aren't on the phone to the marketing department checking they have the right 'brand elements'.

At least that BBC South slide uses the correct bespoke font and (almost) the right style. (At least for the circles style). I've seen far worse from regions, who as has been said, are often not terribly aware of network presentation styles.

I just happened to be visiting my local art college, where I done some Photography courses, and this was on the wall there. It seems that cake bakers, who attend the school which adjoins the college, were the bakers used for the filming of the Christmas Day Bake Off Oneness ident.

Just thought I'd post this information in case anyone's interested.

That's C4's plan for the next series of Bake Off.

So, Martin Parr has not managed to shoot anything new yet then! No new ident since January 15th. I wonder when we'll see the next one.

Hopefully when he's learned how to use a tripod and employed somebody who can add a proper soundtrack.

Bit of a cushy number for him though, isn't it. Just shoot a one-shot scene of something which, conceptually, has had no real thought gone into it ...no need to worry about a music soundtrack as nobody has expressed any specification to use one ...and in return, the BBC (in reality, the licence fee payer ...yes that's you and I paying for this sh*te) sends him a very nice renumeration fee. Nice work if you can get it.

Less Oneness, more Dumbness.

It's obvious that they'll be rolling out new ones over the next few months - the more important matter is if BBC Creative have taken onboard the large amount of criticism these idents have received (and rightly so).

Tripod - maybe. But I doubt that there will be a distinctive soundtrack, or apparently so according to one of the guys working on the Oneness idents...

Is it obvious? Was anything said that new idents would be added to this package on a monthly basis? All that was said is that they'd relate to events throughout the year. As 4 were released in January, it doesn't look like there'll be monthly additions.
