The concept of bringing the world to your corner of the UK was a good one for the balloon.

With all the wonderful things that happen on planet earth I wonder why that isn't re-explored but not with a balloon this time.


The balloon never ventured beyond the UK. Look what an uproar there was when it was discovered Moon was filmed in Croatia.

Also, I don't think (owing to CAA/coastguard rules) it (or any balloon) was allowed to fly over the open sea ? (Not that I'm suggesting it could have flown to foreign locations !)
Was the IOW Needles ident real, or CGI ?

Yet it looks crap, because its CGI. Only a real balloon would do.

Most of the idents we all know and love were the two balloon filmed in one location and superimposed onto another.

Maybe they should talk to Countryfile who have loads of beautiful shots of the country that a balloon could easily be dropped into.

Well good! I like the idea of the BBC being personified into the Periodic Table, as that promo showed. The CGI is excellent as well.
