Who signs off BBC pres? The trail for Question Time not only had the circle animation on the BBC One logo during the trail, but it also had the old plain red circle motif endboard. With a cheap looking font. Why don't they check all these things?
close to TX bumpers don't go through marketing, they are delivered straight to playout. So the programme is responsible.

However... Marketing is still (or should be) responsible for making sure that programme teams producing bumper trails have access to, and use, the correct branding.

I've incorporated the two stings into Mountain Rescue, to act as initial footage before the end shot appears. If you ignore the Oneness graphics forming up over the two stings, surely it is an improvement.

Other than BBC Sport programmes, I have rarely, if ever, seen one of these end boards done properly by a programme team. The current arrangement leaves the door open to significant variations in what's delivered - and that's exactly what's been happening. There is a strong case for having the end board prepared and inserted by playout. It would be much easier to govern playout's adherence to a graphics template. Though no doubt the BBC has some inflexible contract with Ericsson which prevents this.

Well, if they do have responsibility for this, the vetting process obviously involves a blindfold.

Throw a suitable soundtrack over it and it'd actually be pretty good.
I wouldn't go as far as say it could ever be regarded as pretty good, but incorporating the stings does add interest (and, boy, does it desperately need it), and with some sort of soundtrack, yes, potentially a further improvement ..like dreadful elevated to just poor!
Hmmm. A suitable soundtrack. How about
'Rescue me'
or
'Who let the dogs out'?

Maybe the sublime soundtrack for the balloon would work, but I'm not sure how if it translates from the stings to the ident.
Adding the stings would make it more appealing, but the idents themselves are still dire.
