Rhythm and Movement looks lovely compared to that. At least the production value was decent. That new ident looks like a home video.

What a crappy gift for the New Year from the BBC. I didn't even know this was happening until stumbling across this thread. The circle idents were old but okay and I'd rather they weren't replaced than be replaced with something inferior. Someone please tell me this is just one of those weird January things that the BBC has been inclined to do in recent years.

This is a new ident set to replace the circles. It's absolute crap.

With regards to Rhythm and Movement, at least there were some idents that I liked, especially the Maasai one. However I drew a comparison between initial opinions of the idents and the s***e we got this year.

Ugh, just seen the paddling one. Old man boobs. Ugh! I don't want to be looking at that for the next ten years.

They remind me of those ones E4 had spoofing the Rhythm & Movement set. Even they were better.

The visuals are bad enough, but the lack of any soundtrack or audio identifier is very disappointing.

Christ. Dire.

The Christmas Day ones had some decent editing and post production. These are literally some random footage with the logo animating on. There is nothing to explain why we are looking at some fellas stood in the sea. Genuinely can't believe someone signed this **** off and thought it would go down well.

My verdict on these idents:
I know there are multiple ones waiting in the wings - but I'd rather not bother looking at all of them since it's obvious it's going to be utter s***e.

This set is devoid of anything remotely eye catching or what represents BBC ONE as a whole. The lack of a soundtrack alone just makes it look barren. It's cheap nature of a logo slapped on a video fails to mask the depravity of how low BBC presentation can go. There is no thought and creativity whatsoever. The personality of the brand has been entirely stripped away with this POS.

There is absolutely nothing redeeming about this joke of a set. While Rhythm and Movement wasn't well received, some idents were decent. These - are awful. Not just awful, but bland, barren and crap.

Moore and BBC Creative should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such a s***e ident set to be commissioned. I fear for what 'refresh' they'll give for BBC TWO. The 'oneness' set won't last long in this respect.

0/5 - originally 1, but the set is so s***e that it makes the 2002 celebs of ITV1 look like Idents of the Year.
