I've heard that it's quite a dramatic change, but that's just someone's opinion, of course.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please say that the colours switch to BLUE!
After seeing all that green on World I can't help but hope that cool blue will prevail over all that red -- I said it before and I'll say it ag'in: "she looks like a Burmese brothel, she does."
And, by the way, nothing says "bye bye Hutton, hello future" like a totally new set of packaging for BBC news and current affairs programming. Sort of like giving Jeffrey Archer a makeover once he's released
.
In fact, I think this should be the subject of a new reality show for BBC Three. "BBC News: The Makeover." Follow several BBC apparatchiks as they rapidly retool and rebrand BBC News to rebuild the corporation's image in the wake of the devastating findings of the Hutton inquiry. Feel the tension in editorial meetings where they ENFORCE standards of objectivity (primarily through ruthless censorship
), observe the stylish new look, feel and music that goes along with an updated, more friendly format. Maybe the presenters can all wear red vests and caps with the BBC logo emblazoned on them in a brilliant white. After all, it's the new corporate look.
I think Red is likely to be here to stay - though I suspect beige will die a death and we'll see more black and white, and possibly a hint of orange.
BBC One / Two News and News 24 will surely harmonise their looks (though this doesn't mean they have to be identical) - so that they appear to be close neighbours within the BBC News brand. This allows BBC One/Two to opt-in to News 24 for News specials and it not seem out of place etc.
I think that given ITV News are using blue a lot, and BBC One News specifically ditched their previous blue look as cold and distancing colour when they went red and ivory/beige, a return to blue is very unlikely.

I can't see the music changing that much at all really.
