If the regional beds are not going to be updated yet, then the thing to do, as mentioned, would be to have the national bed with headlines then BOOM BOOM then the regional bed, this would sooth out the changeover.
Or, even more suitable would be to send out copies of the new National Bed to the regions. Naahhh... too logical.
I think the remix of the intro music is very good. Now all they need to do is get the presenter to speak at the right point in the music and they'll have cracked it!!
The music isn't very much different, but then I wasn't expecting it to be.
The titles are better than the News 24 ones (specifically, because they don't have the stupid integrated headline, nor do they have 80's style unfolding numbers) but I'm not too keen on them. Why do they have black titles used in conjunction with a white set (I'm not too keen on that either, the ivory looked warmer - and I still think the old pre-corporate national news with the virtual studio was a lot more impressive and commanding)?
They all still looks a bit cheap - just like the News 24 ones do. I agree the old ones were tired and in desperate need of replacement (why on earth it was thought acceptable to relaunch the programme but use the old titles for over a year I don't know) but I'm not keen on these. And since these have taken a year to come, I expected something pretty amazing.

Deffo, Chris, this morning I dug out my downloaded pre-1997 re-launch Six O'Clock headlines. The music is amazing and still hearing it now makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. Strangely, hearing it also made me realise how much I associate that theme STILL with BBC News, it must be engraved on my brain!
Also, the new titles, I agree - I expected something a little more extravagant and am slightly surprised that they got rid of UK reference (ie place names) as if to give the bulletin a more international feel? However, I DO think that the titles fit in well with the set, especially when on the back-projected screen.
