The new sting is much nicer than the old one. The problem with the new titles is Reporting Scotland.
Surely it can't be THAT hard to demand the regional headlines are a precise length and then prerecord them so the snazzy bit at the start doesn't get ruined. The new titles NEED the explosion sound at the start and RS keep buggering it up.
It's arguably easier to opt back at the right time if the headline inserts are done live rather than prerecorded. That's maybe why not all nations/regions prerecord.
Well they never manage it properly. See I would have thought it say the 6.00 regional was going to be, say 14 seconds, they could record it and trim/pad it to get it the right length, them play it out at the right time so as not to knack up the theme tune.
Scotland virtually without fail muck up at 6 and come back late.
I think the opening headline bed needs to be changed - it doesn't appear to fit with the beginning of the titles, which starts with added pips (if I recall). Ideally a bed similar to N24's would blend in better, but under the current operation of the opts (where the regional centres play in the bed), you run the risk of the centres not starting their opt at the appropriate part of the bed!
The only way around this would be for BBC LDN to opt itself for the headlines at 1,6 and 10pm (and by extention, they should be able to opt on DSat), and the BBC1 feed coming from TV Centre to the regions and nations *not* to contain the LDN opt but instead just the bed of music to which the regions and nations would put their voice and pictures to...
That said, it might cause probs for certain nations who get their pre-recorded headlines played out from their presentation suites....
Easily sorted, just make the sure bed is at a constant pitch when London throws to the regions. Also, a bong played out by the regions would pretty much cover up most problems with timing.
Sorry, I missed the Six, but for anyone who wants to see the One opening titles: High Q (~2.5Mb) | Low Q (~0.7Mb)
Ive notice on the Ten Opening that the start of the titles have been cut off and it makes a woosh straight in without the pips at the beginning, also the BBC News logo seems to look a bit different.
A Request: Does anyone have an audio clip of the title music?

Talking of which, the music when the nations/regions throw back to London seems disjointed between the region and then the national short titles.
Unless it was just NWT making a mess of it tonight (which, of course, would never happen).

Exactly what I'm saying - the beds in the regions need changed. From the couple of times I've heard it, it doesn't blend as well as the old theme music did.
But seriously, I can't help but see a look that perhaps draws a little inspiration from a VERY old look?

Maybe it's just me, but the whole ribbons and text circling the globe I think has a great symbolism...

Not exactly what you were saying - you were talking about the opening of the 1/6/10. I was talking about the 6.5x return to London.
However, as I basically agree with you. I won't raise this with you.
