Not sure if this has been posted, but on David Lowe's website, it's quoted:

"BBC 1 News Mix
BBC News viewers in the UK will hear a new mix of the music from next week. I'll be interested to hear what you think.... "

So does this mean a brand new set of idents as well as music?? Can anyone confirm anything as yet??

Apologies if this has already been posted!

Gary.

It means new titles as well.

Seriously? Lowe gets to scoop the BBC on this?

I wonder if any of the insiders can verify these claims?

Bring back this studio!

It was by far my favourite. Simple, warm and stylish. I loved the wooden floor and the ivory coloured curved walls.

The idea of someone "scooping" BBC News over the release of this 'highly confidential' information is a bit ridiculous....it's just a slight tweak to the music (probably) and titles that'll follow on from what we've seen on News 24 and The World. It's not exactly rocket science to work that one out....I don't quite know why there's been so much excitement and repeated "when are the new titles" threads over the last few months.

DL told me in an email a few weeks ago about this. I suppose he has no obligation to keep things underwraps.

All I will see is about bloody time too the BBC get new titles for their new set they've had for a year now, lol.

I much preferred the tweaked version with the red walls. The one in that pic always had a pretty poor quality shot of the newsroom (which was black and white at first!) and I can't stand beige as a colour.

Here's David Lowe's website in case anyone wants to check it out - the announcement about the music is on the front page. http://www.davidlowemusic.com/

We had a blue 'cut-glass' studio from 1993-1999 without any changes at all (apart from the BBC logo in 1997). How would you lot have cope if the BBC decided to do the same thing again - actually have a good brand and KEEP WITH IT!

Of course the BBC is now in a culture of changing everything about once a year for the sake of change. Rolling Eyes

Well they've had the current titles and music for almost 5 years now, almost as long as the 6 years the blue virtual look was going for. Anyway, it looks as if this "theme" is going to go on at BBC News for longer than 6 years, just continuing to evolve to keep it fresh. I'm quite excited about this - I'd love to see what they've come up with for the new titles, and the remixed music is good news too. I just hope its more impressive than the remix of News 24's music, which is okay, but nothing special.
