New Look for ABC1

It is getting very repetative now, they desperately need more shows. Also I don't see the point in them airing Scrubs anymore when the latest series is shown on E4.

I never understand how these UK versions of American channels work such as ABC1 and FX, surely it would be a case of ABC and FOX in the US offering their shows to ABC1 and FX first, though then of course they wouldn't make as much money on them thinking about it.

Well FX is also a cable network in the US.

The new ECP was also just on, and I have to say it's certainly an improvement over what they used to have.

And don't forget ABC1 isn't even available in Wales :S

As I'm in a picky mood, that isn't strictly true, it's just not available in Wales on Freeview. On Sky it is.

It's 6pm and no sign of a primetime ident, which suggests the one that's been on all day is the only one.

Love the new ABC1 ident and menu. Thatd all I have seen at the moment.

Can't put my finger on it but why does it remind me of Channel 5's early days? Only serveral times more slick and professional, of course

Perhaps it's because the logo is circles inside a square. The two do bare a resemblance.

I'm surprised abc1 haven't yet updated the breakbumper which looks like it is now two revamps out of date. Then again, when the dog generator was having a fit the other day (refusing to disappear for ads and put all the dogs on screen) they all disappeared everytime the bumper came on, which suggests it is strangly broadcast at a point after the playout system and the dog generator in the broadcast chain.

I'm missing the old music, it was very catchy, whereas this new 80's style isn't very appealing.

If you ask me, the catchiness was becoming a weakness. After 2 years of hearing it, it was getting on my nerves a little. The use of The Feeling for the summer idents was a nice break from it but again, a very catchy tune that grates if you hear it too often.
