New titles, new graphics and the newsroom was "repositioned" for a very wide screen behind Jennings. Think of the fake newsroom setting on the BBC national news, except wider. Otherwise the red/blue theme of WNT is still here. What a bad time to have no money for a capture card!

Well I have one... just saw this topic as it was halfway through the programme. I dunno which bits are new, so...

Peter Jennings mentioned the 'new surroundings' at the end of the programme. He said they hoped it would help their ability to communicate, not distract from it.

Maybe they looked at the new look BBC News 24 and thought "anything you can do, we can do bigger... and in nicer colours too".

Basically all of the screens are new, and the main newsdesks have been pushed to the side. Other news shows like World News Now come from a seperate studio (for the time being) which looks like the old one, and i belived is shared with the online newscasts on abcnews.com. Can't wait to see a giant WNN logo on tht screen. Also thanks to Lee Stanley for posting pics.

Apart from the big screen, it looks a bit plain, doesn't it?

It does.... it looks very British actually...

Finally they've caught up!

Some would probably say that ABC have just done a rip-off from channels like Sky News and CNBC, although rather than a videowall with lots of small screens as such, they have just gone for one massive projection screen.

At least ABC News now have a larger presentation area, rather than that *tiny* little set perched at the end of a newsroom (before they moved to another studio presumably to allow these changes to be done in the main area. I was wondering why for the past few months the background was very static, I think they just moved the old background and desk into another studio).

Looks like abc like the Newswall...

Just imagine, that if BBC News 24 had that amount of space available, they may well have gone for something simular to ABC's "newswall".

I hope they've kept the fantastic World News Tonight headline bed. One of the finest of its kind!

(I'd love a copy by the way if anyone has one?)

Does anyone have a video clip of the titles by any chance?
