New ITV1 Idents

Well I've got a feeling this is all leading up to a big disappointment. Ok so they are making new idents, but they haven't said they are getting rid of the old, so we'll probably get Geri Halliwell at 9.25am!

I expect the pair from the bill, reg & the other one leading into trisha.

Just because they may be having new idents doesnt mean that they are going to introduce them now, or at the start of the day. They are bound to mix them with old ones, as some of the old ones as still ok.

Tell me how chris tarrant or trevor mcdonald has changed within the past year?

Its more needed to introduce people to the set, such as simon cowell, melanie sykes, phillip schofield may even be on one, even though he still does test the nation and winning lines for the BBC. I also expect with three shows coming we'll have a linda barker one. Didnt understand why they dont have a baddiel & skinner one.

I doubt they will introduce new idents whilst summer season is still taking place on the daytime schedule. If they introduce new idents during prime time, they may well be introducing new trailer endboards or we may even see a new generic one before the news; doubt it, but u never know!

It's like two buses at once. They're not idents, but I'd not seen any trails posted.

I suppose it matches all their autumn trails stuff now, with all the blue and black.
Not much space down there for an ITV1 Wales, hmm.

The UTV logo will look even more awful on these.

I really like those new endboards, very nice.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but ITV.com's Homepage has been partially redesigned. ITV have obviously tried to do it themselves without help from @www, and it looks terrible.

The ITV.com logo at the top is the same though. Shame.

Hmm... interesting - in some ways it's better and faster to load, in other ways it looks common and vulgar (very ITV).

As for the new endboards, they look extremely classy and remind me of Channel (5)'s last look.

Interesting if ITV are going to become [I] [T] [V] [1] - I'm not sure it will look very good.

Seriously, that promo looks really Australian! They are actually doing something, not just staring into the camera and they look genuinely happy!

Well the set is much better than last year's.

Amazing. A Launch Promo . Just like the October 2002 promo but different. Have they scrapped the 4 sets in favour for these blue and yellow sets?

And is there any change of music on the idents? Edited at 09:33 Also the subtitles dog (which is only supposed to be on for a few seconds, but lasted for a few minutes at least!

Am very excited too, they were fab. Can't wait to hear the music they use on the normal ident.

OK, got over the initial excitement, now the verdict.

The promo looks very simular to the promos which Australian networks use, particularly 7 Network. However the new ITV1 promo looks as if it was done on a much lower budget. Still no great amount of post production evident, but they look a lot more fun than the old ones.

I wonder if they've made new celeb-free news idents...



I don't think last year's promo showed the celebs staring into the camera either. They're more likely to use the more active moments out of the idents for the promo.

EDIT: Oh, and I notice that the logo just cut in at the end like last year. They could have at least put an ident at the end.
