No - it was for a set of commericals that everyone thinks is British Gas, but is actually some electricity company.
It was originally a Channel 4 "Fourmation" and wasn't anything to do with the Electricity Board, but then the Electricity Board was impressed with them enough to commission a special set for their advertising - "HEAT ELECTRIC", "COOK ELECTRIC", "SHOWER ELECTRIC", etc. etc. which as said above stick in everyone's mind as being for "British Gas". I always thought such people were stupid, until I remembered that these days most people get their electricity from British Gas and their Gas from their local electricity company (or Scottish Power, even if they're in Kent).
And soon everybody will be using their mobile "phone" to play games and take pictures, watches to make phone calls, PlayStations to play DVDs, insuring them all with Tesco, and getting personal loans from a Water Company.
Aaaahhh, smell the heady whiff of progress. What an enlightened and sense-based world we now live in
