New ITV1 Idents

itv nightime are using the a quick bit of the generic.

What I dont understand is why they have made the package to use the style of the squares used in the old animated idents, yet now dropped the animated idents. They could have easily have included some extra squares like the itv sport one;

which i cant download from tv home, link is broken!

Now would you say that each three new themes were jazzed up versions of certain of the old themes or not particularly?

i.e has one theme from the old set been dropped and the other three jazzed up, or have they all been dropped and three new themes introduced

I'm guessing here, but the gentlemen in the white collar looks like the same guy who appears here - David Hayman again.

Don't know about Mr Casual in the top. I thought he might be an ITN Newsreader, but they seem to be handing some of the luvees scripts to give us a hint that they are actors rather than presenters. (Pauline Collins has a script in hers.)

The ident at 5.59am this morning, just before GMTV was branded "ITV1 Wales"

Oh...Well its Thursday, 7:30 and the london program just had Mel ITV1 ident. The woman never said ITV1 London, Just now on ITV1 its....., so why has the London ident not been used?

It seems there's been a cockup as Yorkshire had an ITV1 branded ident as well.

And Sonia never mentions the regional names, it'll be because she has no history within ITV1 unlike the others

The promos look quite good, although haven't seen the new celeb idents, or any new animated idents, must look now!

This evening I was watching Scottish, and have a feeling it was a new ident. In case you didn't know, they've used a mix of network and local ones, with a slight bias towards ours. However, tonight there was an ident which looked like it was on a different set....with squares in the 2 different shades.

Pam Ferris used on both YTV junctions tonight, how lazy; (And the announcer advertising what had just been seen on a promo is typical of the national setup)

Yes, is Pam Ferris our token regional ident then ? I'm annoyed at the apparent loss of "regional celebs". Have these appeared anywhere ?

Yup, they are lazy as Granada had the same Mel Sykes ident at 10.30 and 11.30 tonight. But I am not to arsed about having this ident, as it beats The Bill or Cold Feet ident down anyday, plus I think she is a Lancashire lass too.

Though now anyone mentions it, I haven't seen any ident's featuring people off Granada Reports.
