New ITV1 Idents

We really need a glossary section to the FAQ...

Okay, Eddie, I'll try and be gentle before someone rips your head off.

They're called idents .

idents are the space teachers tell you to use at the start of the first line of a new paragraph.

Did you think to look on TV Home? It took me less than a minute to find this page.

Absolutely. A long version Chris Tarrant one. Still looked as naff as the rest of the regional ones but good to see an overturn on their stupid "we're not going to brand London as such" idea. I'll upload the clip when I'm home tonight.

Needless to say, Scottish (AFAIK) hasn't updated a thing - but at least we can see the ECP (I'm sure that's a good thing...)
I don't like the current scottish tv logo....it's too clumsy. Whilst it would in many ways continue to destroy what's left of ITV Regionability (nice word there) it's enevitable someday. Best get it over with so we can enjoy the same updates as everyone else.
ITV1 Scotland....*sniff*.

Niamh Cusack (the lady in red) who appeared in Heartbeat yonks ago and appears in a new Carlton production soon.

And the larger, lady in black that is veteran actress Pauline Collins from Upstairs, Downstairs and Shirley Valentine . No doubt she too has a new production for ITV1 coming up.

But then you already knew that, right?

My favourite ITV ident at the moment is the short version of the Scottish/Grampian generic news ident - catchy version of their tune. And be happy... at least you have more than one ident on your ITV station! ...and at least it does something other than just sit there!!

Yes!! That one is really catchy! The clouds at Scottish is good too. Music MUCH better than ITV1 clouds!

I like the Scottish TV clouds ident. But i wish we could see more of it. Like before the ITV Evening News etc.

Always before 12:30 lunchtime news!!! Thats when I see it most!

They should use it instead of the short graphic ident because i think it looks better (although i do like the short one aswell).

Out of interest, what font is used on trailers etc?

Are Nightime using any different breakbumpers (or PIFbumpers as they could be called!) with the new look, I suppose I'll find out during Turn on Terry tommorow!
