I'm surprised they've done one for that actor bloke out of Trial & Retribution. He only seems to do one drama a year, and probably won't be on screen after tomorrow night for some time.
I think its more a case of making up the numbers. Its only him on the set. They may have filmed in the same building so they dragged him in so that they could use him in two idents today.
I'm fairly impressed with this new batch, the only thing not getting my vote is the ECP. That and UTV's refusal to take anything remotely quality over their frozen blue break-bumper still they're trying to forge as an ident, grr! Looking forward to the next phase of this ITV1 tweaking malarky!
Time for UTV to commission some new local idents methinks, if they aren't going to stick with the corporate look. One way or another, that blue thing has to go!
I'm sure they could bring the old set out of retirement, they haven't aged that much...
After being a little uncertain yestersday, I'm actually starting to really like these. The generic ones are fabulous, the trailers are quite nice, and the celebs are a great improvement. I just don't like the ECP.
After seeing what they've done with the new batch of celebrity idents, i hope we can see some proper christmas idents this year, instead of the yellow firework thing we had. At least UTV had snow AND turned the reindeer animation into an ident.
They could easily use ths same set with the yellow a darker shade of blue and get fake snow, giant bauballs and christmas trees everywhere.
The new idents are good. I like the way the ITV1 logo comes on right away, instead of dancing celebs then the logo.
2 questions:
1) Has Davina got a new one?
2) Why are the regional ones not got regional celebs on anymore? eg - Mel has been on Granada and Central. Chris Tarrent has been on Meridian and Central. so I bet all regions have got the same celebs with just the different regional logos. Also with the regional ones now, the person is either walking to the camera or walking away. At least no one is cut off then. On the olds ones, the bill guy was out of view and only Reg was seen, or Ant was only in view as Dec was cut off on the Tyne Tees one. The new ones are better.
Finally - Who has seen Border, Mon at 3:10? That Lesbian woman from ‘Get me out of here 1’ ident is rubbish!!!!! What on earth is she posing like that for??
Absoloutly love it! for once well done ITV. The new traiers are smart the ECP's are good (even though I don't agree with ECP's). The new news idents are great and better still corrie used a proper background on the credits last night! (if only all programmes could do that instead of having the animated coloured background)
