New ITV1 Idents

Pam Ferris ident into Quincy just then. At least they are doing a lot more this time, like walking around and stuff, not just staring into the screen. Pam seemed to be chatting a lot, which gives us chance to try and lip read what she is actually saying. Laughing

From what I've seen it's a nice change - nice to see a rumour here which actually understates what will happen.

Re: the idents. I feel sorry for The Bill actors. All the other idents see the stars glamed up, while they just stick The Bill stars on in their uniforms.

The only change I want now is for credits, with the general backgrounds axed in favour of individual background like Emmerdale uses.

PS: Notice the same breakflashes are being used.

Although Julie Hesmondhalgh is in her Hayley wig!

The breakflashes are slightly different as previously noted in this thread.

Will we see a new regional ident at 2.30pm, lets see:

Yorkshire, Tyne Tees, Border, Meridian, HTV, Carlton Westcountry and Anglia arn't showing a true regional programme so an 'ITV1' branded ident is often used

Carlton are but they don't have regional idents anyway!

So I think Central and possibly Granada will be the place to look

ITV1 never replaced captions on many of their programmes during the hearts era though.

Don't know if anyones mentioned this but www.meridiantv.com has been Granada-fied.

BTW, I love the new look ITV1, it looks a lot better than the crap that was on before.

ITV1Wales has just played an old ident - the one with Barry Grant who is now in The Bill. It looks so out of place.

As expected Central and Granada used new regional idents, Yorkshire had an ITV1 branded one
