New celebrity idents? Or new graphic generated idents also. Seems strange due to the fact that new stuff aint starting till the 8th. unless new evening schedule is starting.
I wonder what other channels will get make overs next week... 1st September was always a good time for them sometimes. RTE1 have been using their current ident set for three years now, so maybe...

New celeb idents are certainly lined up, this was confirmed recently. Expect new faces to be Simon Cowell, Mel Sykes, Cat Deeley, Julie Graham (who ?), Martin Bashir, Nieve Cusack amongst others. Apparently there will be updated Ant & Dec ones, etc. But we really must have Nick Owen, pointing.
I expect they will be exactly the same format as the previous set, and they will probably still use some of the old set of idents as well.
Id like to see a wider range of idents; more sets and music variations; and form ups on celebrity idents. It would be nice if they could get the celebrities to interact with the squares; like jumping in the air as they fly beneath to fly towards the camera to make the itv1 logo.
Doubt we'd ever see anything like this on the current itv1; we didnt even get an effort at christmas. Why they didnt use the reindeer animation as an ident i will never know.

I'd be surprised. Although the celeb idea was said to be a good one, the way they turned out (rather rigid and plain IMO) didn't sit well with audiences. Whether they did anything with that viewer research is quite another matter...!
Though they do have some good programmes coming up this autumn; mainly dramas; but thats what they are good at! Its a shame many of them will be one off dramas!
For those of you that read whats on tv magazine; u may have noticed there section of 25 programmes not to be missed (title escapes me) where 16 out of the 25 listed were itv1 programmes; i think 7 were BBC ONE (could have been one was channel 4; there could have been a BBC TWO in there I think!
Once you've slotted in all those dramas, Emmerdale, Coronation Street, The Bill, Tonight with Trevor McDonald, Pop Idol, Millionaire, Stars in their eyes, champion's league, Airline etc there arn't many slots left in the main 7pm to 10pm area!
There is a new drama series Sweet Medicine - replacement to Peak Practice. I think I read its a 10 part drama which will screen from next Thursday and its set in Derbyshire.
