None of the idents represent television, they represent moods. This one is meant to be happy, "happy as pigs in sh!t". Sh!t happens to be a good description of the idents too if you ask me.

I don't think so; but then again is the idea really surprising? They've caught on that the idents not very good, so their decision is that they are to be axed soon, yet they've not even been around for 1 year. I can see ITV doing that, indeed.

I don't like any of the ITV1 idents. The original one has decent music but I hate that one as well. Whenever it shows the boy with the missing tooth I always look away as I don't want to see a ginger child licking his tooth with his large tongue.
The pigs one looks like a joke to me. It reminds me of like Charles Allen is doing to the channel and like the rest they don't make sense.
The STV and UTV idents are much better than what they have and I like them.

I won't be sad to see the back of them. Yet I live in the UTV area and I don't like the ITV1 idents. That says something.

Is that because ITV1 appear during the overnight feed? I think STV do their own overnight service and I would find it more convenient for UTV to closedown instead by showing a programme rundown caption and then fade to black until 6am instead of showing the Mint which I find a waste of screentime but I know they wouldn't.

stv DID control there overnight programmes, half the time there just repeated scotland today / North tonight, then go onto ITV nightscreen for over 1 1/2 hours instead of showing the rubbish itv thourgh out, 2am - 5AM SORTED
but I think thoses days are gone aswell!
